Bible Reading: Psalms 33:12, Jeremiah 29:7, Psalms 122:6

Memory VerseRighteousness [moral and spiritual integrity and virtuous character] exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverbs 13:34 (AMP)

Wikipedia defines Nation-building as the constructing or structuring of a national identity using the power of the state. It simply means the creation or development of a nation. Nation building is expected to be a continuous exercise of a visionary leader. The Zambian government once sold their copper mines to an outside consortium for 25 million dollars. Within three months, the company made 75 million dollars. Interestingly, they raised the money at the expense of the Zambian government.

They did not not pay upfront but over a period of time. In their magnanimity, they decided to give 0.06% of their profits to the government. Imagine the economic turnaround that could have happened had the government managed the copper mines effectively or struck a better deal with the mining company in a country where there is poverty, sicknesses, etc. Leaders must develop the capacity to be able to strike a deal that will be most beneficial to their country in the long run.

Why should a government sell out its natural resources when it can contract out its operations for a period of time even as you understudy on a win-win mutually beneficial terms. Ghana and South Korea had their independence the same year in 1957. Obviously, the two countries are world apart. Thank God for the move of God in South Korea but by nature, they are not a Christian nation. Majority are Buddists, yet they are making giant national strides.

The Government of China once stated that in the next 10 years, 20% of her citizenry will be multimillionaires. That means over 440 million Chinese will be millionaires. They are primarily Buddist. The Japanese are primarily Shituists. Those in Indonesia and Malaysia are Muslims.

While we lift up holy hands and praise God, we need to possess an understanding of how things work. Most leaders especially in Africa are intellectually deficient and leadership bankrupt. Coupled with our high prayer intensity in Africa, we need requisite wisdom, knowledge and understanding of how things work. Are you called into government like biblical Daniel? Back up your prophetic grace with adequate knowledge. Africa shall rise again.

Quote: The key to nation building is to change the nature and value system of the nation as a whole.

Prophetic Decree: Receive a heart after God’s own heart, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Master of the universe, hallow be thy name.

2. I cancel every curse working against Africa, by the power in the Blood of Jesus.

3. Africa, hear the word of God, you shall not be endowed yet impoverished, in Jesus name.

4. Spirit of godly and exemplary leadership, possess our leaders, in Jesus name.

5. Lord Jesus, please forgive us of the numerous blood shed of innocent citizens, in Jesus name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:  Luke 22; John 13
