DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post March

Wednesday, 15th March, 2017.

Bible reading: Jeremiah 35:1-19.

Memory verse:  Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set. Proverbs 22:28 (NKJV)

The testimony is told of one of the Patriarch of faith who was arrested alongside some other young Christians and were all kept in a prison. They were persecuted for their faith.

Usually, they were served just a slice of bread for breakfast.  Amazingly, this Patriarch divides his slice of bread into 10 and gives about 2 portions to younger Christians as his tithe unto the Lord. This is the type of Christianity handed over to us by the Saints of old.

Have you wondered what “the crowd of many witnesses” (Heb.12:1) such as John Wesley, Finnis Dake, the 12 Apostles of Jesus, Apostle Ayo Babalola, Martin Luther King Jr, etc will be saying concerning this New Age Christianity?

The modern-day Christian is a far departure from the Old. The modern-day Church has lost her focus. Discipleship messages have been replaced with prosperity messages. Christian integrity and accountability is no longer emphasized on our pulpit. Evangelism has been given a none prominent role and, in some cases, non-existent. This is not the faith our Fathers died for.

Prosperity should be a outflow of a faithful relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Silver and gold belongs to our God and He will generously give it to that faithful and loyal servant. After all, no father will watch his faithful son wallow in poverty. How much more our Father in heaven, the Giver of every good thing? (Psalm 35:27).

The parameter of measuring church growth shouldn’t be in her attendance and the offering remitted to the National headquarters but in the number of saved souls that are heavenly bound. O Lord, deliver our generation! Are we truly salt to the earth and light to our world?

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and keeping oneself from being polluted by the world” (James 1:27).

Shall we all repent and revert back again to the original pattern. Herald the clarion call. Christians seek not repose. Let’s get our priority right!

Quote: Give me the old-time religion… it’s good enough for me – Hymnal

Prophetic Word: May the Lord take His Church back again to the Divine original, in Jesus name.

Prayer point:

1) O God our heavenly father, revive your Church again, in Jesus name.

2) My father, purge me from the satanic doctrines of my days reducing my effectiveness for you, in Jesus name.
