PURSUE, OVERTAKE, AND RECOVER ALL

PURSUE, OVERTAKE, AND RECOVER ALL

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post April

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 30: 1-8

Memory Verse:  So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8 (NKJV)

A Pastor noticed that three things were stolen from his Church – a wall clock, the offering bag, and the Bible placed on the pulpit. The question is: Why only these three items? You see, the devil and his agents are very crafty, and nothing they do is by mistake or accident.

Suddenly, he notices that his members started coming late to Church. This is the reason for stealing the wall clock. He noticed again that his members don’t give cheerfully unto God. The purpose of stealing the offering bag. And finally, he noticed that his members sleep during Word ministration – that was the reason for stealing the pulpit Bible.

You see, the devil and his agents were not out to kill the Pastor, but to make his ministry a living hell. That stunted ministerial growth has got an explanation attached to it.

On another note, a friend of mine said someone in their neighbourhood once walked up to his mother after an issue arose. The person said, “We know you are a good woman, else, all we needed to do was to cut a little portion from one of your clothes spread on the dryer at your backyard.” Question: For what? For a spiritual contact to get access into her life.

Your story cannot change to glory until there is a change of garment in the realm of the spirit. What then happens when a person wears rags in the spirit? The soldiers contended to have the clothes of Jesus (John 19: 23-24). Elijah kept his mantle (cloth) upon Elijah, and Elijah’s purpose opened up (1 kings 19:19).

Was it not a forbidden cloth that kept an entire nation in defeat before a small country called Ai? No thanks to Achan (Joshua 7). Even Joseph had to change his garment (cloth) before he could stand before a king (Genesis 41:14).

What has the devil stolen from your life – physically and/or spiritually? Could it be your wealth, health, destiny relationship, children, your womb, your academics, ministry or spouse? Recovery is by force. You have been crying for ages but that hasn’t solved your problems. It is time to iron it out on the altar of prayers. Awake o Zion, it is your time of restoration.
