Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 1:18

Memory VerseTimothy, my child, I’m giving you this order about the prophecies that are still coming to you: Use these prophecies in faith and with a clear conscience to fight this noble war1 Timothy 1:18 (GWT)

A prophecy is a word spoken under a supernatural auction about the future. There is the parable of two young boys who went to meet a wise man who had the ability to predict the future. To the first boy, the wise man said he was destined to be great. In fact, he was going to be the next heir to the throne of the village after the demise of the incumbent king. To the second boy, the wise man said he is destined to be a servant. Infact he will live in servitude all the days of his life.

The first boy on hearing these words became proud and arrogant. He would get a royal seat very early in the morning for several years and compel men to salute him as the incoming king. He did nothing. He learnt no trade neither did he go to school. He was gallivanting round the village. Days turned into years and yet the incumbent king would not die. The second boy on hearing his prophecy decided to fight for a turn around in his destiny. He travelled far away from the village and began farming day and night.

He vowed he will not be poor. Several years later, there was famine in the land. The only hope of all the villages around was the farm of the second boy. The villagers thought to themselves. If we make him a king, perhaps he could sell food for us at a cheaper rate. And that was it. He became king over his own people. Can you guess what happened to the first boy who initially was destined to be king? Proverbs 24: 33-34 (CEV), “Sleep a little.

Doze a little. Fold your hands and twiddle your thumbs. Suddenly poverty hits you and everything is gone!” God is not unrighteous. Whatever a man sow he will reap.

Take Away:

1. No preparation, no prophetic performance.

2. To every manufacturer’s product, there are terms and conditions attached. Similarly, there is no prophecy without a condition attached.

3. Any prophecy without a condition is a fallacy.

4. Even if you don’t have a prophet to prophesy over you, embrace the principles of the Bible. That’s the greatest prophecy! “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts”. 2 Peter 1:19 (NKJV)

5. A prophecy could hang over a destiny without fulfilment from birth to death.

6. The performance of a great prophecy comes with a great price and a great sacrifice.

7. Destiny can be exchanged.

8. Destiny is not automatic.

QuoteThere is no prophetic word without a prophetic condition attached.

Prophetic Decree: Powers that disrupt prophecies in your foundation are declared dead, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus.

1. I receive grace to be diligent and proactive to bringing my prophecy to performance, in Jesus name

2. Powers contending for my prophecy, be wasted, in Jesus name.

3. I receive grace to hold on to the prophecy hanging over my destiny until eventual manifestation, in Jesus name.

4. None of my prophecy shall go without fulfilment in Jesus name.

5. Wisdom to pursue my prophecy in word and in action, overshadow my life, in Jesus name.
