Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:58

Memory Verse:  Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean menProverbs 22:29 (KJV)

Pastor Dr Paul Enenche wrote: It has been confirmed that a major pathway to distinction in life is discipline. Discipline guarantees distinction. Discipline guarantees distinction because discipline facilitates consistency, that is, consistency of the right actions. Let me give you one example. Many times I set up my alarm clock to wake me up so I can work. And in most cases, I would be the one to “wake up” the alarm clock.

Usually I would wake up and begin to work, then after a while, the set alarm begins to ring. I would jokingly tell the alarm, “See you! I woke up before you.” When you maintain consistency like this, your system would be programmed to it and, after a period of time, it becomes automatic. And when you come to that realm when you no longer struggle to do things, you are in a realm of effortless and irresistible distinction.

It is not what you do occasionally that changes your life; it is what you do habitually, perpetually, and perennially that changes your life and destiny. For example, anyone can pray occasionally. Anyone can wake up in the night to study the Bible occasionally. Anyone can give occasionally. But remember that occasional actions do not change a person’s life; it is consistent action that changes a person’s life.

Let me give you another example: when a man uses the axe to break a stone, he may continue hitting the stone with the axe for as many as ninety nine times, yet, the stone remains unbroken. Then at the 100th time, the stone breaks into pieces. The question is, was it the last hit that scattered the stone? No! The stone broke as a result of the combination of several hits over time. This is what discipline does for you. It sustains the consistency of the right action.

Beloved, never get tired of doing the right thing; the result may not come now, but victory is in consistency. Remember this: It is not what you do occasionally that changes your life; it is what you do habitually, perpetually, and perennially that changes your life and destiny.

Challenge:

1. Refuse to give up in doing the right thing.

2. Keep on doing the right thing habitually, consistently and permanently.

Quote: It is not what you do occasionally that changes your life; it is what you do habitually, perpetually, and perennially that changes your life and destiny.

Prophetic Decree: Receive a continous grace for consistency, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Lord, I receive the baptism of consistency. Help me never to get tired in doing the right thing, in Jesus Name.

2. Discouragement will not make me miss the final stroke that breaks the camel’s back in my pursuit, in Jesus name.

3. I receive divine enablement to do the right thing whether it is convenient or not, in Jesus name.

4. Altars of desecration within and around me, you shall not pollute my consecration,  in Jesus name.

5. Anything in my life rebellious to positive change, lose your grip, in Jesus name.
