THE TESTIMONY ON INTEGRITY FROM A FORMER GOVERNOR

THE TESTIMONY ON INTEGRITY FROM A FORMER GOVERNOR

DWOJ Daily Words of Jesus Devotional Post August

Sunday, 14th August, 2022

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 12: 4-14

Memory Verse:  Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles as enabled by the Holy Spirit. Former Borno State Governor in Nigeria, Senator Shettima speaks: Governor Zulum’s (Current Borno state Governor in Nigeria) problem is not money. I appointed him as Rector of Ramat Polytechnic, Borno State; he did not build a house of his own. I appointed him as Borno State Commissioner for Reconstruction which l allocated 20 billion Naira to construct houses for Internally Displayed Persons (IDPs). Governor Zulum did not build his house, but was still staying in his family house in Maiduguri. I was so shocked that

I paid him an unscheduled visit only to confirm it was true. I made up my mind that day that he was going to succeed me, but I never informed him. 32 Borno State APC members wanted to succeed me in office; I was just laughing knowing fully well that I had already chosen the most corruption free politician I have ever seen. I brought the idea of him succeeding me; he vehemently rejected it and travelled out to Mecca. He came back; I asked him again only for him to tell me he did not have money to purchase even Governorship form talk more of campaigns. I personally purchased his nomination form and provided funds for his campaigns. Today, I am happy because l gave Borno State the best Governor ever. Beloved, these are non-christians who believe in the values of integrity.

Lessons:

1. Someone somewhere could be secretly testing your character despite your reputation amongst many.

2. Your next level may simply be based on the results from the test of your character.

3. It is possible for God to favour one beyond one’s wildest imagination.

4. It is possible to be singled out amongst one’s contemporaries for an exalted position one has never imagined.

5. All the aforementioned is possible in God if you will dare to walk in integrity.

6. As a Christian, the power of the Holy Spirit is most needed to becoming a person of integrity.

7. Are you a person of integrity?

Quote: May integrity and uprighteness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you – Psalm 25:21 (NIV)

Prophetic Decree:  May you not fail the test of integrity, in Jesus name
