Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:21, Isaiah 41:10, Ecclesiastes 7:8
Memory Verse: Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
It’s December 24th. Only 8 days to the end of the year. You sit with your goals and notice the gaps—unfinished projects, seemingly unanswered prayers, battles still raging, and puzzles yet unsolved. Do you sigh in regret? No. Then, what do you do?
1. Return to the Place of Thanksgiving:
Even though many goals are unmet, the fact that you are alive to even reflect is God’s mercy. Gratitude shifts your perspective from frustration to faith. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
2. Re-evaluate with God, Not Just Your Journal: Some goals may have been yours, not God’s. Others may have been delayed, not denied. Sit with God in prayer and ask Him: “Lord, which of these was Your plan for me this year?” This helps separate personal ambition from divine assignment.
Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
3. Engage the Power of Prayer and Fasting: When life’s puzzles remain unsolved, seek clarity in God’s presence. End-of-the-year fasts are powerful in breaking unseen battles and preparing the ground for the new year. In Daniel 10:12, Daniel sought God for answers and heaven responded with angelic help
4. Sow a Prophetic Seed into Your Future: One way to silence the voice of despair is to give; whether to the poor, the house of God, or someone in need. It’s a prophetic way of saying, “Lord, I’m entering my new season with expectation.” Ecclesiastes 11:1 says, “Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again.”
5. Prophetic Declaration & Faith Reset: Don’t end the year in regret. Speak life into the days ahead. God can compress blessings into hours. What you thought was impossible all year can still happen before the clock strikes December 31st. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.”
Quote: God can compress many years of blessings into hours. 38 years expectation of the man at the pool of Bethesda was met only in a moment. Hold the forth.
Prophetic Decree: Before the end of this year, I command a breakthrough that will make you cry for joy, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus
Father, I thank You for keeping me till now. I may not have seen all I hoped for this year, but I know You are faithful. I surrender my plans, my puzzles, and my battles into Your hands. Finish what You started in my life, O Lord, and cause the end of this year to overflow with Your goodness in Jesus name. Amen.
Hymn: Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!
1. Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.
Refrain:
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer back to heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”
2. See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on,
Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!
3. See the glorious banner waving, Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s Name we triumph over every foe.
4. Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near,
Onward comes our great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!
