Bible reading: Joshua 24: 14-15
Memory Verse: “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! Joshua 24:14 (NKJV)
Every member of a family has a role to play. When you got born again, you became a member of the household of God; hence, it is important to act responsibly as a member of God’s family. Are you a bench warmer in your local Church? That’s not good enough! You should be part of the history makers “who make things happen”. The price of greatness is responsibility. You are either a tool in the hands of God or a weapon in the hands of Satan.
The importance of working for God includes:
- God is committed to you (John 14:18): When a need arises, every father attend first to the child who has always attended to his needs.
- Your protection is guaranteed (Psalm 91).
- You will enjoy the covenant of prosperity (Isaiah 60:5): I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his children beg for bread.
- You will flourish like a palm tree (Psalm 92:12).
- You will be a carrier of uncommon miracles (Mark 16:15-16).
- God will set you higher above all your challenges.
- You will enjoy the covenant of good health (Exodus 23:25).
- You become God’s favourite: God becomes proud of you (Job 8:7).
- You will be custodian of God’s secret (Amos 3:7): The secrets of God are revealed to only responsible members in His house.
- God will be there for you in the day of trouble (Psalm 18:6).
Quote: Stop being a prodigal son. Act responsibly in your Father’s house.
Prophetic Word: I rebuke spiritual truancy in your life, in Jesus name.
Prayer Focus:
- Father, I repent in all ways I have taken your work with levity, in Jesus name.
- I receive grace to serve God in Spirit and in truth in the name of Jesus.
- I rebuke every satanic distraction, unfaithfulness and slothfulness in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I cast out the spirit of spiritual coldness, in Jesus name.
