Bible Reading: Exodus 31: 1-5

Memory Verse:  The LORD is the one who directs a person’s steps. How then can anyone understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24 (GWT)

Rowan Atkinson—globally known as Mr. Bean—was pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at The Queen’s College, Oxford before fully transitioning into entertainment. But his pivot wasn’t reckless—it was strategic. He didn’t walk away from academia. He redirected his intellectual capital into a creative industry where he had unique market value.

He had the credentials but he also recognised his competitive edge. His story raises a crucial question in today’s professional landscape: Are you solely relying on academic achievements, or are you activating your unique value proposition? Are your skills aligned with emerging industries—or just conventional expectations? Your degree is a baseline, not a boundary.

The future belongs to professionals who can combine credentials with creativity, and competence with differentiation. Because in today’s economy, paper proves potential—but positioning unlocks performance. Expertise is not enough. Engagement, execution, and exposure are what expand impact.

Your purpose may not be glamorous in the beginning, but be consistent, it will take you out of Egypt into your Canaanland someday. It may not be glamorous, but it is significant. Just be consistent. Chinua Achebe, the foremost poet initially pursued medicine but switched to English and literature and became prominent by same.

Best bet: Educate your talents. Your talent is best harnessed when you train it. This is one reason why you need God. Else, many will continue to wallow in pain in the ocean of life. What is a fish looking for on a tree? Misplaced priorities! Surely, the fish won’t thrive. Discover, harness and deploy your gifting. That’s your surest gold!

Quote:  The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn — Alvin Toffler.

Prophetic Decree: Today, the angel of prosperity shall pay you a visit, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Jesus for opening my eyes of understanding.

2. I receive the grace to discover, develop, and deploy my gifts and talent, in Jesus name.

3. My gift and talent shall bring me before kings and not before mean men, in Jesus name.

4. If I am on the wrong career and destiny route, O Lord, redirect me by your mercies, in Jesus name.

5. I receive wisdom to navigate challenging times, in the name of Jesus.
