Bible Reading: Matthew 5: 13-16, Mark 16: 15-18

Memory Verse:  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark16:15(KJV)

Tyson Fury slugged it out with Deontay Wilder in a 11-round bout for the ages. In the end, the British boxer came out on top knocking out Wilder to keep his title and undefeated record intact in Las Vegas. Fury landed three knockdowns and survived two from Wilder to pick up an emphatic KO win. Tyson Fury praises Jesus after winning World Heavyweight Champion beating Deontay Wilder. Tyson Fury wore a Jesus hat following his victory which had the words ‘El Rey Viene’ on it, a Spanish phrase that translates into ‘The king is coming.’ The phrase certainly suited the occasion as Fury decimated Wilder in one of the greatest title fights in heavyweight history. Amazingly, in the spirit of love and sportsmanship Fury showed Wilder some love after he won though the latter didn’t reciprocate. Fury said he’s praying God would soften Wilder’s heart. What a godly sportman. This is worth celebrating. Christians are not meant to be mediocres in their fields. As a Christian, we are meant to infiltrate every facet of life be it in education, sports, politics, governance, etc, in all integrity and professionalism boldly lifting the banner of Jesus. We are light to the world and not light to the Church. I was told of a Christian lady that did excellently well in a music audition singing to the praise of Jesus while others were singing top secular music. At the audition, they couldn’t downplay the anointing that flowed from her voice. She came first. How shall we evangelise our world when we are professionally bankrupt? It takes the anointing of God to come down heavily on a skill or talent for us to present Jesus effectively to a dying world. Tyson Fury must have spent a lot of time in training despite professing Jesus. He was a balanced Christian. Evangelise Jesus in your office, in your school during break time, in your shop; and like Ricardo Kaka on the football pitch, in the market before the foodstuff seller, etc. We all have a platform to evangelise Christ. Don’t forget: Those who are [spiritually] wise will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead many to righteousness, [will shine] like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3 (AMP).
