NASA ASTRONAUTS FELLOWSHIP IN SPACE

NASA ASTRONAUTS FELLOWSHIP IN SPACE

Bible Reading: Hebrews 10: 24-25

Memory Verse:  I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.” Psalm 122:1 (NKJV)

According to FOX NEWS, Wilmore spent nine months aboard the International Space Station (ISS) with fellow astronaut Suni Williams, beginning in June 2024. The pair were stuck there for over 280 days, though they initially planned to be there for only eight days.

After landing at the ISS, the astronauts’ Boeing Starliner spacecraft encountered technical issues, which led National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to decide it was unsafe to return the astronauts to Earth.

On arrival, at a press conference, Wilmore was candid about his relationship with God when a reporter asked about faith in space.

“I heard that you were still attending your church services from space. Can you tell me a bit about why that was important for you to do?” the journalist asked. “Well, goodness, the Word of God…I need it,” the astronaut began. “My pastors are the finest pastors on or off, in this case, the planet.” “And to tie in and to worship with my church family was vital,” Wilmore added. “I mean, it’s part of what makes me go.” Wilmore also shouted out a Tennessee church, saying he would watch their services while aboard the ISS. “I also [tuned] into Grace Baptist Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

A buddy of mine is an elder there and a pastor there, and I would watch their service as well, every single week,” the astronaut continued. Wilmore described the weekly services as “invigorating” and emphasized how important Christian fellowship is to him. “Part of what I need, as a believer in Jesus Christ, to continue that focus is a system, day in and day out, because I need that fellowship, even though it’s fellowship from afar,” Wilmore explained.

Lesson

1. We need more Christians who are indeed bold in the declaration of their faith and impeccable in character right there in the marketplace.

2. Your faith in Christ Jesus is your pride. Let people know about it at any given opportunity.

3. If you must be strong in faith, you must have a system that rekindles your spiritual fire, at all times and in all places – even in space. What shall separate you from the love of the Father? (Romans 8:35a).

Challenge: When last did you fellowship with the brethren? Be warned! Certain graces are only released when we fellowship.

QuoteNo fire without wood. Have a system of fellowshipping – personally and corporately – to keep your fire burning.

Prophetic Decree: Receive grace for fresh fire daily, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Thank you Jesus for drawing me closer to fellowship and intimacy.

2. I repent of my bad attitude towards fellowship with the brethren.

3. My Father, please strip me of past memory preventing me from establishing myself in my new local Church.

4. As the hart pants after the water brooks, O Lord, let my heart pant after deep fellowship with You, in Jesus name.

5. I receive wisdom to manage relationships, in Jesus name.
