Bible Reading: Joshua 1:1-9
Memory Verse: But now, this is what the LORD says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1.
Joshua was next on line to lead the children of God after the death of Moses, his spiritual father. As expected, fear crept into his heart. Leading the Israelites is an enormous task bearing in mind their track record. It was the same people who provoked Moses preventing him from entering the long awaited Promised land.
Beloved, God is a Father. You can always count on Him all the time. He feels our pains and understands our fears. To alleviate Joshua’s fears, God sent His Words repeatedly in four verses of Joshua chapter one: “Be strong and be courageous” (vs. 6, 7, 9, 18).
In 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul told his son Timothy said we need the spirit of love, power and sound mind to overcome fear. Gideon’s case wasn’t an exception in his quest to deliver his people from the oppression and impoverishment of the Midianites. He was simply told by God to ‘go in this thy might’.
To every of your fear, worries, anxieties, agitations and confrontation, I say unto you: The God, your Lord has gone before you. No need to fear.
Quote: “Courage is not the lack of fear but the ability to face it.” — Lt. John B. Putnam Jr. (1921-1944).
Prophetic Word: May the Lord torment your fears, in Jesus name.
