Bible Reading:  Ephesians 5:16-17, Proverbs 12:27

Memory VerseMaking the most of every opportunity, because the days are evilEphesians 5:16 (NIV)

I celebrate the grace of God upon Dr. D.K. Olukoya. He said: There is a terrible agony that rings in my soul—an agony that must ring in the soul of every serious-minded minister of the gospel. It is the agony of not finishing well, the agony of mandated but unfinished tasks, the agony of wasted open heavens, the agony of dead years with unfinished assignments, the agony of wasted open doors, the agony of scoring goals when the match has ended, the agony of wasted, aborted, and abused opportunities.

God has given us opportunities to do something in our generation, but they can be wasted, diverted, or squandered. They can end without the expected results from heaven, and this is a tragedy.

What is opportunity? Opportunity is an opening—favourable circumstances, advantageous situations, a chance, a room, a discovered avenue for profiting. Opportunity is taking advantage of God’s gifts upon your life. It is having a big break, a possibility, a prophetic outlook.

The Bible says in Proverbs 12:27 that the slothful man does not roast what he took in hunting, but the substance of a diligent man is precious. Opportunity is locating what will work and making it work. It is knowing what to produce and what not to produce. Opportunity is favourable allowance.

Listen to these hard facts about opportunities, beloved. God’s best gift to us is not things, but opportunities. Blind Bartimaeus seized the opportunity and was healed. The woman with the issue of blood seized the opportunity and was healed. When you dismiss an opportunity, you miss success.

Highly successful people are children of opportunities. You can never find a lost opportunity. Opportunity is recognising when the right time and the right place unite. Procrastination is the enemy of opportunity.

Beloved, three things do not come back: the spoken word, time past, and neglected opportunities. God does not use a person who has had a chance and refuses to take it. Opportunity is often lost through deliberation and procrastination.

Quote: God’s best gift to us is not things, but opportunities

Prophetic Decree: Every curse of procrastination is broken in your life, in Jesus name.

Prayer Focus

1. Father, let me not waste my divine opportunities in the name of Jesus.

2. Father, let me not squander my open heavens in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, let me not run into deficit in the bank of heaven in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, let not my past be better than my future in the name of Jesus.

5. Father, let me not become history while I am still living, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

6. Father, let me not become a negative example to the people around me in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, let me not go into slumber in a sinking boat in the name of Jesus.
